Welcome to the official site of hit songwriter Bob Halley. Here you will find a catalog of his songs, along with the labels and artists who recorded and released them. Much of the material made it's way onto the charts at the time nationally and abroad.

Bob, together with top notch writers Ben Raleigh, Larry Kusik, Aaron Schroeder, Al Kasha, Matt Lucas, Irwin Levine, Eddie Deane, Myrna March, David Grover, Carl Spencer, Jimmy Radcliife, Mark Barkan, Al Kooper and Jerome "Doc" Pomus as his co-authors, had fourteen top fortys, three top tens and a number one on the Billboard top 100 as a result of their collaborations.

"That's How Heartaches Are Made", "Dear Lonely Hearts" and "She Can Put Her Shoes Under My Bed (Anytime)" were all top ten hits, "Shoes" going to number 1. Happily these songs still garner sales and airplay all over the world.

"Heartaches.." has been recorded more than any other song in his catalog. Bette Midler does a 'simply divine' rendition in her most recent Warner Bros. cd. In their latest release on Motown, the Temptations have rendered an impressive version as well. Randy Crawford was high on the charts (top 5) in England just short while ago with this R&B standard.! The first version of this song was done by Baby Washington on Sue (now available on the Collectibles label). It climbed to number 4 on the R&B charts in 1964. (Bert Keyes arrangement sounds as fresh today as it did when first released).

Halley's music has been regularly performed on such diverse TV shows as the saturday morning cartoon series The Banana Splits, CMT videos, TNN videos, and before that, The Ed Sullivan Show, The Garry Moore Show, American Bandstand, Soul Train, and a pair of Dick Clark-CBC TV specials.
